At HostBuddy, we’ve always championed the idea that web hosting management should be genuinely easy — whether you’re looking after a single website or running an entire server. It’s the principle that has guided the Hepsia Control Panel from day one, and it comes bundled with HostBuddy’s VPS and Dedicated Server offerings.
For HostBuddy customers using Hepsia on a VPS or Dedicated Server, the panel lets you spin up individual hosting accounts and share them with other users. This means your server doesn’t have to be dedicated exclusively to your own websites and projects. Leftover server resources can be repurposed into hosting accounts for clients, friends, or business partners — helping to ease the monthly server bill and potentially create an additional revenue stream.
Several years ago, HostBuddy introduced the ability to create up to 5 supplementary Hepsia accounts under a VPS or Dedicated Server. The feature was warmly received. Some customers began using these accounts to sell hosting services, while others simply set up separate accounts for friends, clients, or individual projects.
Today, HostBuddy is excited to announce two important updates that take this functionality to the next level: the Hepsia Accounts API and the option to purchase additional Hepsia accounts. Together, these additions give server owners far more flexibility to build and grow their own hosting service around Hepsia.
The Hepsia Accounts API
The Hepsia Accounts API has been one of the most requested additions to HostBuddy’s account management functionality.
It provides a simple way to integrate Hepsia account management with virtually any billing platform. Customers who want to sell hosting accounts from their VPS or Dedicated Server are no longer limited to managing those accounts manually through Hepsia. They can connect their preferred billing solution and build account management directly into their own sales and customer management workflow.
To make working with the API easier, HostBuddy has also added an API Explorer. The API Explorer provides detailed information about each available API command, including its parameters and practical examples of how it can be used. Customers can explore the available functions, test different commands, and get a much clearer idea of how to integrate Hepsia account management into their own setup.
The API Explorer also allows customers to connect an AI agent and manage their Hepsia accounts through a chat interface, making everyday account management even more convenient.
For customers looking to build a more automated hosting business around their server, the new API provides the flexibility to use Hepsia together with the billing and management tools that work best for them.
Hepsia Accounts Upgrade
Alongside the new API, HostBuddy is also introducing another frequently requested feature: the ability to purchase additional Hepsia accounts.
Until now, customers could create up to 5 additional accounts per server. For many users, that was more than enough. However, as more customers started using the feature to offer hosting services, HostBuddy began receiving requests to increase the limit or provide an option to purchase additional accounts.
That option is now available.
Customers can purchase additional Hepsia accounts in batches of 50 accounts for just $5/month at wholesale pricing. This brings the cost of a single additional Hepsia account to only $0.10 per month.
As a point of comparison, a single cPanel account can cost upwards of $2.00 per month, even when available volume discounts are taken into account.
The new upgrade therefore gives customers plenty of room to expand. They can start with the 5 accounts already available with their server and add more only when their hosting business begins to grow.
A Great Selling Point for Your Server Portfolio
These two updates make the reseller hosting opportunity available with Hepsia much more powerful.
For HostBuddy’s reseller partners, this is another useful selling point when offering VPS and Dedicated Server solutions. A customer may initially need a server entirely for their own purposes, but Hepsia gives them the option to put unused resources to work. Even a small number of hosting customers can help offset the monthly server fee, while a growing customer base can turn the same server into an additional source of revenue.
In other words, HostBuddy customers are not simply getting a server and an easy-to-use control panel. They are also getting the tools to start their own small hosting business alongside whatever they originally purchased the server for.
HostBuddy will continue expanding Hepsia and its reseller capabilities to give both customers and partners more flexibility in how they use and sell our server solutions.
